TRC JOCKEY OF THE WEEK
In the plate for the signature performance of the day on Cracksman, FRANKIE DETTORI (+3pts, stays #3) garners honours for his British Champions Day efforts at Ascot. The G1 Champion Stakes winner romped to a special victory, Dettori’s second after the G2 Long Distance Cup win of Stradivarius.
TRC OWNER OF THE WEEK
From 11 runners in four countries, GODOLPHIN (+2pts, stay #2) topped the standings with three winners, all in Australia. G1 Caulfield Cup winner Best Solution was the star, raiding from trainer Saeed bin Suroor’s British hub in Newmarket. Sheikh Mohammed’s operation added a pair of G3s.
TRC TRAINER OF THE WEEK
The 27 Group winners trained by JOHN GOSDEN (+5pts, stays #5) in 2018 ranks sixth in the world. He has done it thanks to just 13 different horses, three of whom – Stradivarius (5 wins), Roaring Lion (5 wins) and Cracksman (3 wins) – gilded the trainer’s record on British Champions Day at Ascot.
TRC SIRE OF THE WEEK
A total of 19 horses have contributed to the 40 Group wins sired by sturdy #7 SEA THE STARS (+5pts) in our three-year rankings window. (The mean distance is 13 furlongs!) Bolstering the average this week: Stradivarius (G2 Long Distance Cup, Ascot) and Listen In (G3 Prix du Conseil, Chantilly).
