The big mover once again is second-season sire No Nay Never, responsible not only for G2 Maisons-Laffitte winner Shadn but also Arizona and Wichita, second and third behind Pinatubo in Europe’s top juvenile contest, the G1 Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday. It’s easy to see why progeny of the Coolmore stallion have been so popular at sales in both hemispheres.

Top trainers in Australia
Chris Waller’s return to the top spot after his record seven Group/Graded winners in a single day last week was short-lived. Godolphin trainer James Cummings went past him again after a Performance Index gain of three points week on week on the back of two Group winners at Caulfield (Flit in the G1 Schweppes Thousand Guineas, and Trekking in the G2 Alfa Romeo Schillaci Stakes).
The position could change again this weekend, with both strongly represented on Caulfield Cup day in Melbourne and on The Everest card at Randwick.

Top jockeys in the USA
A G2 win on New And Improved at Belmont Park and a G3 on Oleksandra at Keeneland meant a two-point gain for Joel Rosario, enough to put him on top, for the time being at least, of the second-to-fifth logjam behind longtime leader Mike Smith.
