The Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association (TBA) and Great British Racing International (GBRI) have launched the Great British Stallion Showcase 2021. The online showcase is in lieu of the TBA’s Flat Stallion Parade and the National Hunt Stallion Showcase, both of which were unable to take place in 2021 due to Covid-19.
The Great British Stallion Showcase website houses photos and videos of each stallion, along with audio clips from stud managers, pedigrees and fees. The interactive stallion pages also include their British EBF eligibility where appropriate.
The website’s intuitive and practical design allows breeders to go straight to the stallions they have in mind for their mare, while also inviting them to efficiently explore the other options available to them in Britain.
Participation in the Great British Stallion Showcase 2021 reflects that of the annual live showcases, and therefore features first and second season flat stallions, and National Hunt stallions of all ages.
Claire Sheppard, Chief Executive of the TBA, saysm, “The TBA and GBRI are delighted to launch the Great British Stallion Showcase for 2021. While sadly the restrictions around Covid-19 have disrupted this year’s renewals of our annual Flat Stallion Parade and National Hunt Stallion Showcase, we wanted to offer breeders the next best opportunity to explore and view the outstanding stallion offering in Britain this year.
“Our team at the TBA have liaised closely with stallion studs to source a range of visual and audio assets, while the GBRI team have successfully built a user-friendly, practical website which contains a wealth of information on each stallion. We are grateful for GBRI’s expertise in creating this virtual showcase and we look forward to further promotion of the featured stallions over the coming weeks through behind-the-scenes footage and content across digital channels, including bespoke social media assets that have been provided to each stud involved.”
Overbury Stud manager Simon Sweeting says, “I am delighted to have the opportunity to showcase Jack Hobbs, Schiaparelli and Frontiersman in the Great British Stallion Showcase.
“It is of course disappointing not to be able to meet breeders in person at the traditional Stallion Parade at Goffs UK’s January Sale. However, this is the next best thing, and I hope breeders can enjoy seeing the stallions in comfortable surroundings.
“I wish everyone taking part a very successful season, and hope that we can all meet up in person soon.”
